Meet our Ambassador Delal Iscan-Stamate

Please tell us more about yourself.
I am the founder of D.I.S. Advisory in Zurich, specialising in international expansion and structuring with a strong legal foundation. Together with my team and a network of qualified professionals, I support entrepreneurs, startups and growing companies in governance, cross-border expansion and strategic development across Switzerland, Europe and the Middle East.

Which sectors, technologies, or topics drive your interest in the startup ecosystem?
I am particularly interested in technology, cybersecurity, AI, digital infrastructure, governance and international business development. I am fascinated by founders building solutions that create long-term value while addressing real challenges in an increasingly connected world.

Can you share a success story or a highlight of a startup you’ve been closely involved with?
A key milestone was helping a Swiss cybersecurity company expand internationally and establish a presence in Doha. The company successfully developed strategic relationships with one of the largest energy organisations in the Gulf region, a leading global technology company, and international partners, including a leading international automotive company, creating new opportunities for long-term growth and international collaboration.

What do you think are the biggest opportunities and challenges for Swiss startups today?
Switzerland offers exceptional talent, stability and access to capital. The opportunity lies in scaling globally from day one. The challenge is often moving beyond the local market and building the international networks, partnerships and visibility needed for long-term growth.

What inspired you to become an SSA Ambassador, and how do you see your role in supporting our mission to empower Swiss startups to succeed?
I believe strong ecosystems are built through collaboration and knowledge sharing. As an SSA Ambassador, I hope to connect founders with opportunities, perspectives and valuable networks while contributing practical insights from law, governance and international business development.

If you could share one piece of advice with startups and entrepreneurs, what would it be?
Think long-term. Build relationships before you need them, focus on creating value, and remain adaptable. Many opportunities emerge through trust, consistency and a willingness to learn continuously.

How do you envision the future of the Swiss startup ecosystem, and what role would you like SSA and its Ambassadors to play in it?
I see Switzerland strengthening its position as a global innovation hub. SSA can play an important role by connecting founders, investors, experts and policymakers while helping Swiss startups gain greater international visibility and access to global markets.

What value do you see in being part of the Swiss Startup Association?
Personally, it provides an opportunity to learn from inspiring founders and contribute to the community. Professionally, it creates valuable connections, fosters collaboration and strengthens the ecosystem that enables innovation and entrepreneurial growth.

Is there anything else you would like to share with us?
I am passionate about connecting people across industries, countries and disciplines. Some of the most meaningful opportunities arise when different perspectives come together, and I look forward to contributing to a collaborative and internationally minded startup community.
