Meet our Premium Member Johanna Janku, Founders of Oh yes baby yes GmbH

Please tell us about yourself.

My name is Johanna Janku, MD. I specialized in obstetrics and gynaecology. An OB/GYN is a medical professional specialising in women’s reproductive health, pregnancy, childbirth and disorders related to the female reproductive system.

Please tell us about Oh yes baby yes GmbH.

The driving force behind the decision to start Oh yes baby yes GmbH is the strong belief that we can make a positive impact on the lives of others. We want to encourage people to accept themselves and their bodies, break out of outdated behaviour patterns and live out their own individuality and sexuality. We are driven by a strong sense of purpose to inspire and empower individuals for a better quality of life. Oh yes baby yes promotes: A fulfilled sexuality improves the quality of life.

Tell us more about your plans for 2023? What is your long-term vision?

We firmly believe there is an inseparable connection between body and mind. Considering both of these aspects is key to sexual satisfaction. Sexuality is one of the most intimate aspects of human life. Life-changing events, such as diseases, pregnancy or menopause for instance, can have an impact on the body and mind. As such, we’ve established a 1:1 coaching program to guide our patients individually to promote a deeper understanding for themselves. We want to share our path of sexual empowerment and growth with more people, because we believe it could impact the lives of many.

What has been the biggest success that you have achieved in your startup?

Our journey at Oh yes baby yes has been filled with numerous successes, but if I should pick a specific one that stands out, it would be the positive feedback we receive from our patients. This has already been extremely rewarding! This achievement alone has fuelled our determination to continue making a positive impact and develop our ideas for future growth

If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently? What are your biggest learnings?

We have encountered various challenges where we had to be extremely adaptable to new and not foreseen circumstances. The startup landscape is dynamic and being adaptable is crucial.

Our focus on truly understanding our customer’s needs has been very important. Actively listening to feedback and engaging in meaningful conversations are key to putting the patient at the centre of everything. It is a constant learning process and this mindset has allowed us to stay agile and adapt.

What motivates you to continue your business every day?

The company Oh yes baby yes GmbH wants to make a positive impact on the lives of others. We are driven by a strong sense of purpose to inspire and empower individuals for a better quality of life. I realized I am not able to convey this approach to my patients enough in the regular consultations as a gynaecologist. By providing education, guidance and access to resources Oh yes baby yes helps individuals navigate the complexities of their mental health to improve their quality of life

One piece of advice for someone who is just starting out with their startup?

I think every startup journey is very unique and challenges are inevitable. To stay resilient and to learn from past mistakes is key. Clearly define your goals for your startup and understand exactly what problem you are trying to solve!

For me personally, networking and mentorship offered me a lot of support. Learn from experienced entrepreneurs who can offer guidance. But ultimately we can learn from absolutely everyone. Each interaction with others is an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the world.

What does it mean to you to be a member of the Swiss Startup Association?

The Swiss Startup Association provides a lot of opportunities to connect with other entrepreneurs who are in similar roles. Through organized networking events, we receive diverse perspectives and share knowledge with others who are in similar situations.

Would you recommend joining the Swiss Startup Association?

Building relationships with other entrepreneurs is crucial for establishing a startup. The Swiss Startup Association provides a variety of events to build relationships and connect with others. I highly recommend joining this association.

Have you ever visited the events of the Swiss Startup Association?

I attended the very informative lecture “Revision of the data protection act and consequences for Startups” on May 16th 2023, which was organized by the Swiss Startup Association. Especially in a field where we deal with very sensitive information about our dear patients and clients we have to be careful how to protect all data.

Is there anything that we haven’t asked you that you would like to share with us?

Our goal is the strong belief that we can make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Oh yes baby yes on the other hand cannot improve without the honest opinion and value of others. We encourage everyone to tell us what we could improve or where we are good at.

Thank you Swiss startup association for the opportunity to share our founder’s story and to receive more visibility.
