Meet Andy Lein, Founder of Lein

Please tell us about Lein

My company specializes in optimizing Talent Acquisition processes due to enhancing the candidate experience. We offer comprehensive assessments, tailored project implementations, and ongoing enablement through in-person and online-trainings, all aimed at giving businesses a competitive edge in securing top talent. In a nutshell, I help hire better people faster. 🙂

Over the last 20+ years, I have worked and built up a solid experience in talent acquisition. In particular, I spent 13+ years at Google Switzerland as one of the local recruiting leads, staffing teams like Google Search and Assistant, now Gemini. Now, I want to use my experience to help tackle talent shortage issues and I think ‘Candidate Experience’ is a key element to do so.

Tell us more about your plans for 2024 and what is your long-term vision.

Too early to say. I think we live in a very dynamic environment at the moment and I do not plan to grow the company significantly as at the moment, my product and my quality is mainly my experience and attitude and I want to build on that carefully.

What has been the biggest success that you have achieved in your startup?

Well, I went live in May 2024 only and so far received overwhelming feedback from the market and the clients that I got to work with already.

If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently? What are your biggest learnings?

Be less hesitant. I wanted to be perfect in everything before I do anything, but the reality is, it’s never perfect and waiting to share your experiences because you are missing some fancy layout on a presentation or so is not the right priority setting.

What motivates you to continue your business every day?

I have heard multiple complaints from organizations and people in leadership positions moaning about the shortage of talent and problems in hiring the right people at the speed that they want. Since I have the experience in tackling such issues and identifying untapped potential in my clients, it feels great to support them and help solve their hiring issues..

One piece of advice for someone who is just starting out with their startup?

Do it. Do it now.

What does it mean to you to be a member of the Swiss Startup Association?

I only recently joined the SSA, hence I can’t say a lot here. However, I do expect to become part of a like-minded community that learns from and helps each other when opportunities arise.
