Meet Florian Kadler, CEO and Co-Founder of Saya Suka

Please tell us about Saya Suka

We are a startup focused on the development of a synbiotic water with natural and functional properties. We founded the company Kefinova AG in June 2022 to launch an innovative, low-carb drink that supports digestion and is the first and only beverage to combine probiotics (helpful gut bacteria) and prebiotics (non-digestible fibers that help these bacteria grow).

Tell us more about your plans for 2024? What is your long-term vision?

We plan to build our brand presence through strategic marketing and participation in key industry events. This year, we launched our first batch of a few thousand cans to gather initial market feedback, allowing us to make necessary improvements. Our long-term vision is to significantly increase production and scale up operations at the beginning of 2025, positioning ourselves as a leader in the synbiotic beverage market.

What has been the biggest success that you have achieved in your startup?

One of our biggest successes has been becoming one of the first companies to develop a synbiotic water. We have already gained media attention in various U.S. outlets, which is also highlighted on our website.

If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently?

We’re still an early stage startup, but looking back, one thing I would do differently is to focus on regulatory matters earlier and actively test procedures related to the formulation to avoid losing time!

What motivates you to continue your business every day?

I’m motivated by the progress we’re making and the potential impact of our work. Celebrating those wins keeps me going every day.

One piece of advice for someone who is just starting out with their startup?

Stay open to change and don’t be afraid to adjust your approach when things don’t go as planned. It’s all about learning and adapting as you grow. Trust your instincts and keep pushing forward!

What does it mean to you to be a member of the Swiss Startup Association?

Being a member means a lot to me. I appreciate connecting with other founders and find the events valuable for expanding my network.
