Please tell us about vyzn AG

vyzn is a SaaS solution that enables real estate developers to massively reduce the amount of wasted resources, thereby increasing both profitability and sustainability. 3D building models are uploaded to the browser, analysed by vyzn’s algorithms and optimised, manually or by AI.

Founded by Swiss Property to boost project sustainability and enable data-driven decisions, vyzn, after a successful early 2024 spin-off, now sees its diverse and multidisciplinary team of seven holding a majority stake. vyzn now focuses on these very issues, working closely with industry-leading partners to reduce the waste of resources.

Tell us more about your plans for 2024 and what is your long-term vision.

vyzn aims to become a leading ecosystem for solutions in the AEC industry. In 2024, we are focusing on three key objectives: achieving the EcoBau certification for our LCA app, creating a circularity app to assess the reusability of buildings, and integrating other leading apps into our platform.

What has been the biggest success that you have achieved in your startup?

Achieving our first recurring customers and the first IFC to BEM conversions for simulations are significant milestones. However, our most significant achievement is that users are re-evaluating decisions based on the insights provided by vyzn, confirming the role of our tool in improving early stage decision making and reducing resource waste.

If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently? What are your biggest learnings?

If we had to start over, we’d prioritise understanding market needs through early customer interactions for feedback-driven product improvements, aiming for rapid product-market fit.

Our biggest learning: engaging with diverse users from the start is critical to designing a solution that truly meets their needs.

What motivates you to continue your business every day?

Motivated by offering users the tools to find the perfect balance between costs and emissions, we’re inspired daily to facilitate a deeper understanding and improvement of their projects. Our commitment lies in empowering a greener future through optimized decision-making in the AEC industry.

One piece of advice for someone who is just starting out with their startup?

Innovate for a better future and work with purpose – it is the most fulfilling kind. Balance short-term focus with long-term vision. Engage in dialogue with everyone: users, customers, partners and even competitors. These conversations will shape and drive your startup’s path forward.
