FinTrust Partners, founded in Switzerland in 2020 with currently 45+ clients, aims to transform financial services with innovative solutions. Led by Partner Dalibor Stankovic, the company champions agility, trust, and client success. With two international teams, FinTrust employs 15 experts dedicated to providing tailored financial empowerment to businesses in Switzerland.

Tell us more about your plans for 2024 and what is your long-term vision.

In 2024, FinTrust Partners aims to expand its client portfolio to 80+, enhancing its market presence. The long-term vision is to focus on finance process automation leveraging AI tools, improving efficiency for both the firm and its clients. This strategy will streamline operations, allowing businesses to concentrate on core activities while FinTrust ensures financial management efficiency.

What has been the biggest success that you have achieved in your startup?

FinTrust Partners’ most notable success was leading the financial aspects of the acquisition of Aeris Cleantec by iRobot. This collaboration showcased FinTrust’s proficiency in managing complex financial operations and due diligence, leading to a seamless acquisition process and significant growth for Aeris Cleantec with a successful exit of USD 72m.

If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently? What are your biggest learnings?

Reflecting on our journey, I’d focus earlier on strategic partnerships, technology integration and agile organizational methods to scale faster. Biggest learnings: embracing failure as growth, the importance of a cohesive team, and maintaining flexibility in our business model to adapt swiftly to market changes. These insights have been pivotal in shaping our approach and success.

What motivates you to continue your business every day?

My motivation is witnessing our clients’ success and growth. It’s fulfilling to see our strategies empower businesses. Constantly facing new financial challenges and embracing tech advancements keeps me energized and committed to our mission.

One piece of advice for someone who is just starting out with their startup?

Prioritize customer needs and feedback. Your early users are your best resource for improvement and growth. Stay adaptable and learn continuously.

Being part of the Swiss Startup Association personally signifies my commitment to innovation and community. Professionally, it represents FinTrust’s role in the vibrant Swiss entrepreneurial landscape, providing us with opportunities for networking, learning, and growth, while contributing to the broader startup ecosystem.

Yes, I have attended the Winterthurer Startup Nights multiple times. These events are excellent for networking and building partnerships within the Swiss entrepreneurial ecosystem. I highly recommend attending for anyone looking to engage deeply with the local startup community and to find potential collaborators, mentors, and investors.

Is there anything that we haven’t asked you that you would like to share with the community?

I’d like to emphasize the importance of mental health and work-life balance, especially in the startup world. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and forget to take care of oneself. Remember, sustaining your health and well-being is just as crucial as business success. Take time to recharge and reflect, it will enhance your productivity and creativity in the long run.
