Meet our Premium Member: Michael Kubli, Co-Founder & CEO of Kinastic

  1. What does Kinastic do?

During our studies, my co-founder and I had the idea that we would like to digitise workout planning and recording in fitness studios. This was the starting point for Kinastic and we developed a platform for gyms, where coaches can create workout plans for their clients on their tablet/computer and transfer them to their smartphones to use during workouts. After a few ups and downs and pivots, our solution changed and became a digital health coaching app called “kinastic Coach”. With kinastic Coach, we are now revolutionising the health promotion of employees in companies by offering them a solution that provides their employees with completely individual programs in the areas of exercise, nutrition, and mental health.

  1. What are your plans for 2023? What is your long-term vision?

We are experiencing initial success in the market and are now expanding our team and our sales in the DACH area. At the same time, we are working on our product together with our strategic investors and are continuing to expand it. Our vision is to become the central tool for health promotion in companies and to help all employees to become the healthiest version of themselves.

  1. What has been the biggest success that you have achieved in your startup?

The biggest success for our startup so far was when AXA and two other strategic investors took a stake in our company.

  1. If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently? What are your biggest learnings?

Focus, focus, focus. We always wanted to solve everything at once and then realised that this was not very efficient and effective.

  1. What motivates you to continue your business every day?

There is nothing better than seeing your own company and the people in it grow, and in the meanwhile, we can support others in their important work of promoting employee health.

  1. One piece of advice for someone who is just starting out with their startup?

Don’t think about it too much, just do it!

  1. What does it mean to you to be a member of the Swiss Startup Association?

It is super important that founders support each other and learn from each other. That’s why I appreciate that the Swiss Startup Association is committed to a strong startup community.

I recommend joining the Swiss Startup Association. I have already attended a few events, such as many Education Sessions and Founders Dinner, where I met many exciting people. I have also been able to benefit from the knowledge that the Swiss Startup Association shares with its members. It is also very important in my eyes that we have a voice in politics with the SSA.
