Please tell us more about Apropos.jobs AG

Apropos.jobs was founded in 2022 and currently has a team size of 3 people – Nicolas Kubat, Tatjana Bandinu and Tobja Fischer.

Apropos.jobs is on a mission to revolutionize recruiting in Switzerland. We find that the human resources industry is terribly outdated and mainly focuses on the hard skills of applicants. Apropos.jobs changes the status-quo by offering a job matching platform that focuses on the person as a whole. Through scientifically tested personality assessments, applicants receive a profile which can be matched with employers’ requirements and needs through our unique matching algorithm. This produces cost savings in time taken to hire and establishes a more sustainable employment relationship.

Tell us more about your plans for 2023. What is your long-term vision?

Our main highlight of 2022 was to develop and test the beta version of our product. We had the chance to test the system with some renowned Swiss brands, which gave us incredible insights into the field and the potential the HR and recruiting market offers.
The goal for 2023 is primarily growth. In 2022, we have laid the foundations for our company to thrive and now we want to see it thriving!
Our long-term vision is to create a recruiting platform that makes recruiting easy for both employers and employees which supports the creation of long-lasting employment relationships. Ultimately, we want to contribute to a positive future!

What has been the biggest success that you have achieved in your startup?

One of the brands that have participated in the beta version tests was able to arrange a job interview within 24 hours of advertising the vacancy. They reported that the person was suited perfectly for the job and the candidate appreciated the fast, less complicated, and far less stressful application process. That is what Apropos.jobs is all about! 

If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently? What are your biggest learnings?

If we could do it all again, we would learn about ats- systems in an earlier phase and gather more in depth knowledge on them. It’s important that new applications like Apropos.jobs are introduced but it is necessary that these applications are compatible with existing systems and processes.

What motivates you to continue your business every day?

I love what I do, and I can work around inspiring people every day. It doesn’t get better than that.  

One piece of advice for someone who is just starting out with their startup?

Just start! The longer you wait and overthink it, higher chances are you’re going to find more reasons (or excuses) not to do it – and then the world loses out on your genius idea!

What does it mean to you to be a member of the Swiss Startup Association? 

I am looking forward to connecting with other start-ups and building a network. New ideas inspire me, and I love to listen to what people are thinking of. To date, I am operating mainly in the advertising agency sphere, and I would love to break out of it a little. Now, with YCity and Apropos.jobs, I am looking forward to branching out more. 

Would you recommend joining the Swiss Startup Association?

Absolutely!  If you want to meet and connect with new people that are also living and breathing the start-up culture the Swiss Startup Association is the way to go.
