Please tell us more about Aequitec.

Tell us more about your plans for 2023. What is your long-term vision?

In the short-run, we will be onboarding more and more Swiss scale-ups to our software platform to ease their operational burden with all legal actions around their share company (e.g. capital increases and secondary share transfers). In the long-run, we want to expand beyond Switzerland and support our customers in the capital markets of their choice.

What has been the biggest success that you have achieved in your startup?

We have onboarded amazing customers! We love to support them, so that they can focus on what they do best. Currently, we are already servicing more than CHF 2 billion of assets. Every customer testimonial is a big success for us. Nothing beats that!

If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently? What are your biggest learnings?

Recruiting is key. We are looking for great, fast-thinking people that embrace the “just-do-it” challenges of a young company. Everyday we learn and (re)shape our company culture to cater to the needs of our employees so that they can best support our customers with brilliant outcomes.

What motivates you to continue your business every day?

The discussions with our customers keep me motivated every single day. We are working together with thought-provoking founders, chairmans and C-level management from various industries. Understanding their business model and needs are not only key for supporting them, but it is also very rewarding.

One piece of advice for someone who is just starting out with their startup?

Create trust. If you have trust, things move faster and cost less. Pretty simple.

What does it mean to you to be a member of the Swiss Startup Association? 

Personally, I am always happy to share knowledge or to engage in interesting discussions. The Swiss startup ecosystem is extremely vibrant. Professionally, of course, we want to make our software for professional corporate governance affordable for younger companies. We are working very hard to automate more and more processes to reduce the cost base for our customers. Now that we have made it, we want to extend the accessibility of our product to SSA members.

Would you recommend joining the Swiss Startup Association?

In general, raising the tide lifts all boats. This leads to a competitive edge in international markets. Therefore, I truly believe that a strong ecosystem is key. SSA is one cornerstone of the Swiss startup landscape.

Have you ever participated at an event of the Swiss Startup Association? If yes, which one?

Whenever my time permits, I try to join an event. I have participated in various online seminars, but also Founder Dinners.

Is there anything that we haven’t asked you that you would like to share with us/the community?

We are constantly searching for the brightest minds that want to join our growth story. At the moment, we are looking primarily for sales support, but other profiles are also welcome to connect.
